Researchers at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation based at King’s have found themselves at the forefront of highly unusual academic research – developing relationships and conversations with some of the many thousands of foreign fighters who have travelled to fight in Syria and Iraq with ISIS and other groups.

Deputy Director of ICSR Dr Shiraz Maher explains how it came about and what they do with their findings from research on one of the world’s most pressing current issues.
